Care Calendar

The Care Calendar is an online tool that allows us to organize meals and other help for families during a time of need such as illness, the birth of a baby or death of a family member.

 Needs of our Family

• Concerning the Little Family:
   
  As you all know, the Little’s house was recently destroyed in a fire.  While the loss is significant, things are hopeful, as some household items, pictures and clothing may possibly be salvaged.  We all feel the tug to offer immediate and significant aid, but we also need to allow the Little family the time they need to process and make a plan.  The church family has already helped address the most immediate needs for the coming week. Once a plan to press forward has been formulated, we will communicate with the church family and the community in order to help in the ways that are most effective. Sunset Canyon Baptist Church will act on behalf of the Littles, updating information and specific areas of need. 
   
  We will communicate any specific needs as they arise on this page, as well as through email.  If you would like to be on the email list, please contact the church office.
   
  Thank you for your continued prayers and unparalleled care to all members of our church family. It is a blessing to see the body of Christ at work.

  The Littles are attempting to return to some sort of normalcy following the loss of their home and property.  Although saddled with time-consuming, insurance-related chores, they have been able to maintain their previously scheduled events such as church, baseball games and dance recitals.
  
  Hopefully, they will find more of a sense of stability in the coming days with their recent relocation into the guest home of a friend.
  
   

  There will be more opportunities to help the Littles in the coming days, and we will be sure to update you as those needs arise

  The family continues to be in good spirits, despite all that has happened.  The children have all been out to the house to survey the damage and David and Amy are taking the opportunity to communicate the value of family and faith over possessions.  A company that specializes in restoring and cleaning fire damaged items spent the day pulling various things out of the house yesterday.  If you missed the news video on the Littles, you can find it at http://news8austin.com/content/271121/family-talks-about-surviving-fire-caused-by-lightning and http://www.kxan.com/dpp/news/local/hill_country/lightning-causes-fire-in-hays-county

   

  We have set up a care calendar for the Little family in order to help meet their specific needs in the most effective way.  Currently, all that is needed are a few meals to be provided for the Littles as well as their host family.  We will be sure to update you as other needs arise.  Please see the care calendar information above.

  At the moment, all immediate clothing and hygiene needs are taken care of.  Thank you for your offers of clothing and other items.  In order to keep from overburdening the Little family, we are asking that you hold on to your items until a formal plan has been made as to how to move forward in the most effective manner.
